Biography

I’m a Merced native with a desire to give back to my community. I am currently an EMPOWER Advisor helping youth, between the ages 17-21, to accomplish their goals. I have worked for many public service agencies throughout Merced County including: Human Service Agency, Department of Workforce Investment, Central Valley Opportunity Center, Merced County Office of Education, Planada School District, and the Employment Development Department. It is a common goal that connects all of the 11 years of experience, and that is helping youth.

I received an Associate of Arts degree from Merced College and a Bachelor's Degree from California State University Sacramento and a Designated Subjects Vocational Education Teaching Credential in Personnel Administration Occupation.

I believe in giving back to my community and I am actively involved in various committees. I am currently a member of: Merced County Youth Council, Hispanic Network, Merced Irrigation District Advisory Board, Merced College Independent Living Program Advisory Board, National Youth Employment Coalition-Voices of Diversity, and CSU Stantislaus Foster Youth-Aging Out.

Mission Statement

It is my passion in life to provide guidance, hope, and the ability to dream to all the youth. To make them aware of options and opportunities available throughout the community to become better equipped for life. I don't want to lead them or push them, but rather stand beside them through the process. Encourage all youth to have a positive yet productive voice. To make the impossible-possible.
