I was born in Phoenix, AZ to migrant farm workers who traveled from Texas to California to work in the fields. In 1987, I became a permanent resident of California. I graduated from Merced High School and did not want to attend college. After struggling with just "a job", I decided to go back to school. In 1999, I graduated with an Associate of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice.

I started with MCOE in August of 2001 as a General Office Clerk working 19.75 hours. In January of 2002, I became an Instructional Aide for the Office Occupations class. About a year later, we received a small grant and I took on the position of Career Technician. I have been a Career Technician for about 4 years now and I really enjoy my job and enjoy working with the population that I do.

I am currently working towards a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice. I plan to have obtained this goal by 2009.

I love spending time with my family and reading books written by Mexican Authors. Some of my favorite authors are Richard Rodriguez and Ernesto Galarza.
