Biography

I have been working in the education profession since 1987, beginning as a teacher's assistant at the Merced County Office of Education. This gave me the motivation to go back to college and become an academic counselor. Counseling at Valley Community School gave me the desire to continue my counseling experience and I became employed with the Merced Union High School District where my site was Golden Valley High School. This truly broadened my counseling background. After ten years, I again decided to continue my education and I completed my Administration Credential Program at CSU Stanislaus. I recently became a Program Specialist for MCOE. It thrills me to return. This is an organization with outstanding employees and accredited student programs. MCOE understands the meaning of collaborating with other educational institutions, the business community and local service agencies which betters the opportunities for students in our community. This position has brought me back with others that truly believe every student can be successful.

Mission Statement

I believe that education is a life long learning process. Students must feel safe and commit to an active role in the learning process. The instructor will believe that all students can learn. The learning environment should be sensitive, caring and include a fun atmosphere.
